Stop recordings from using your iPhone microphone
Updated 3 weeks ago
If your iPhone is nearby and signed in to the same Apple Account as your Mac, your Mac can switch to the iPhone as its camera and microphone (Continuity Camera). When that happens, BetterCampus records audio from your iPhone instead of your Mac, so your lecture notes come out quiet or empty. Turn off Continuity Camera on your iPhone to keep recordings on your Mac's microphone.
Turn off Continuity Camera on your iPhone
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap General.
Tap AirPlay & Handoff.
Turn off Continuity Camera.
Your Mac stops using your iPhone as a camera or microphone. Start a new recording from the Notes page to capture audio from your Mac.
Want to keep Continuity Camera on? In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Microphone and pick your Mac's built-in microphone from the list. Chrome uses that microphone for recordings even when your iPhone is nearby.
For everything else about recording, see Turn lectures into notes.
