The link you pasted isn't a public calendar address. Go back to your school platform's calendar and copy the share or subscribe link it offers, then paste that instead.
Add a school calendar feed
Updated 4 days ago
Paste your school's shared calendar link and the assignments on that calendar flow into your BetterCampus to-do list, Planner, and reminders. This is a one-way import from your school's calendar, which is different from Sync your calendar (Pro), a two-way connection with your personal Google or Microsoft calendar.
Where to find your calendar link
Your school calendar has a private share link you copy from your school platform's calendar settings. In BetterCampus Settings, the Calendar feeds tab shows where to find it: choose your LMS from the picker and follow its steps. The supported LMS walkthroughs are Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, and Brightspace.
LMS | Where to copy the link |
|---|---|
Canvas | Calendar → Calendar Feed |
Blackboard | Calendar → Calendar Settings → Share Calendar |
Moodle | Calendar → Import or export calendars → Export calendar |
Brightspace | Calendar → Subscribe |
Add the feed
Adding the feed has two stages: first you check the link to preview what's on the calendar, then you save it to import the assignments. You can also paste a link during first-run setup on the Sync data page, which saves it directly without the preview. See Use BetterCampus without the extension for the full setup flow.
Open Settings in BetterCampus and pick the Calendar feeds tab.
Paste your school's calendar link into the Calendar feed link field.
Select Check feed. Checking only previews the calendar; nothing is saved yet.
Look over the preview. It shows how many events the calendar holds (Found N events), which courses they belong to, a few sample events, and any warnings about the feed.
Select Save this feed. Your assignments are imported right away and appear in your To-Do list and Planner immediately, and the feed joins your saved list.
If you edit the link after checking it, the preview is cleared. Run Check feed again before you can save the new link.
Manage your saved feeds
Each saved feed shows its name (or a name derived from your LMS, like Canvas calendar), the calendar's web address without its private token, how many events it holds, and when it last synced. If the feed is failing, its error message replaces that information.
Saving the same link again updates that feed instead of creating a duplicate, and it can bring a feed that failed or was switched off back to working.
Assignments stay in sync automatically. After the first import, a daily sync (about once a day) picks up new events your school adds to the calendar.
Assignments aren't counted twice. If the BetterCampus extension already brought an assignment in from your LMS and the feed supplies the same one, it appears once.
Empty calendars are fine. A calendar with no events saves with a count of 0 and syncs like any other feed.
Remove a feed
Removing a feed stops it syncing and cleans up the assignments it brought in. Anything another saved feed also supplies stays, and your sync data refreshes right away.
Select the feed's Remove control on its card.
Confirm with Remove feed.
The feed stops syncing, and the assignments it added that no other feed also supplies are removed from your to-do list, planner, and reminders.
What to know
The link must be a public https or webcal URL. A private link that needs a sign-in won't work.
You can save at most 3 calendar feeds.
A feed can hold at most 1,000 events.
Troubleshooting
It says the feed must be a public https or webcal URL
It says you can save at most 3 calendar feeds
You've filled all three slots. Remove a feed you no longer need, then save the new one.
It says the calendar has too many events
The calendar holds more than the 1,000-event limit. Ask your school to share a calendar scoped to fewer courses or a shorter date range.
It says the feed returned no content, or the feed wasn't found
The link isn't reaching a readable calendar. Re-copy it from your school platform and run Check feed again.
The preview disappeared before I could save
Editing the link clears the preview. Run Check feed again, then select Save this feed.
My feed card shows an error
Save the same link again; a feed that failed or was disabled comes back to working when you re-save it. If a feed keeps failing, it stops being retried until you do. If your whole Planner is empty rather than just this feed's assignments, see My planner isn't syncing.
My assignments show up twice
Feed and extension imports normally appear once, but Blackboard feeds can occasionally duplicate an assignment because their feed doesn't label events in a way BetterCampus can match. If you see this on Blackboard, it may be that known edge rather than two saved feeds.
