BetterCampus isn't showing up
Updated 3 weeks ago
If BetterCampus is installed but you don't see it on your school platform, work through the checks below in order. Most of the time it's one of the first three.
Check that BetterCampus is installed
Chrome
Edge
Go to
edge://extensions.Look for BetterCampus in the list.
If it isn't there, install it from the Edge Add-ons store.
Firefox
Go to
about:addons.Click Extensions in the left sidebar.
If BetterCampus isn't there, install it from Firefox Add-ons.
Check that it's switched on
Extensions can get turned off without you noticing.
Open your browser's extensions page —
chrome://extensions,edge://extensions, orabout:addons.Find BetterCampus and make sure the toggle is on.
Refresh your school platform.
Check that you're on a supported page
BetterCampus only turns on inside your school platform. It won't appear on other websites.
It works with Canvas, Google Classroom, Brightspace, Blackboard, and Moodle. Check the address bar — you should be on your school's platform address, on your dashboard or a course page. Refresh once you're there.
Check that you're signed in
BetterCampus needs you signed in to your school platform to read your classes.
Look for a Log In button on the page.
Sign in with your school details.
Wait for the page to finish loading. BetterCampus should appear on its own.
Check your browser
Safari — BetterCampus isn't ready for Safari yet. See Download on Safari.
Private or incognito windows — extensions are usually switched off there. Use a normal window.
Phones and tablets — BetterCampus is built for desktop browsers.
Check for school restrictions
Some schools block browser extensions on school-managed devices. Signs of this: a message saying the extension is blocked by an administrator, or BetterCampus installing but never turning on.
What to do if your school blocks extensions
Ask your school's IT team whether they can allow BetterCampus. Send them the BetterCampus website so they can see what it does. Over 2 million students use it, and it adds to your school platform rather than replacing it.
Still nothing?
Update your browser to the latest version.
Close every window and reopen your browser.
Remove BetterCampus and install it again from your browser's store.
Turn off other extensions built for your school platform — they can clash with BetterCampus.
If none of that works, email [email protected] with your school name and browser.
