Set your grading scale

Schools don't agree on where an A starts, so BetterCampus can't guess. Set the grading scale for each class to match, or your GPA will be wrong.
Open the class from Courses, or from Grades, and go to the Grading scale tab.
Why it matters
The grading scale is how a percentage becomes a letter. If it doesn't match your school, your GPA, your grade goals, and every what-if number are wrong too — usually by a little, which is worse than being wrong by a lot because you won't notice.
Import it from your syllabus
Click Import under Import your grading scale and BetterCampus pulls the cutoffs out of the syllabus you uploaded. Fastest way to get it right, since the syllabus is where the real numbers are.

Edit the boundaries yourself
Under Edit grade boundaries, each letter has a top and bottom percentage. An A running 100–93 means 93 and up is an A; drop it to 90 if that's what your school uses.
The Grade Setting slider above updates as you type, so you can see the whole scale at a glance and spot a gap or an overlap.
Your syllabus has the exact cutoffs. If you don't have it, your school's student handbook or registrar will.
Hide grades your school doesn't use
The eye next to each letter hides it. Useful if your school doesn't use pluses and minuses, or skips certain grades — hiding them keeps the scale matching reality instead of leaving bands that can never happen.
Every class can differ
Set the scale per class. AP, honors, and IB classes are often weighted differently from standard ones, and a pass/fail class may not count toward your GPA at all.
If one class is set wrong, only that class and your overall GPA are affected. The rest stay correct.
