Get reminded about upcoming deadlines
BetterCampus pulls your assignments from Canvas and keeps them visible as you work — so you always know what's coming up without digging through your courses.
How deadline reminders work
BetterCampus doesn't send push notifications by default. Instead, it keeps your upcoming assignments visible in the Tasks drawer on every Canvas page. The Upcoming This Week count shows you at a glance how many items are due in the next 7 days.
To see your deadlines:
Open Canvas in Chrome with BetterCampus installed
Click the Tasks button in the BetterCampus sidebar
Switch to the Planner tab to see everything sorted by due date
Stay on top of what's due
A few habits that help:
Check the Planner at the start of each week — scroll through the week's deadlines so nothing catches you off guard
Use the course breakdown bar — the colored bar at the top shows which classes have the most coming up
Use calendar sync (Pro) — send your Canvas deadlines directly to Google, Apple, or Outlook calendar so your phone can remind you
Calendar sync is available on the Pro plan. If you want reminders on your phone, upgrading to Pro lets you push your Canvas deadlines straight to your phone's calendar app.
When do deadlines update?
BetterCampus syncs with Canvas when you load a Canvas page. If your professor just updated a due date, refresh the page and the Planner will reflect the change automatically.
