To-Do List

The To-Do List is the panel on your dashboard showing what's due. It isn't a separate page like the Planner — it sits where you already are, and there's a lot you can change about it.
Turn it on or off
Use Enable To-Do List in the General settings. Switching it off hides the panel without affecting your Planner.
Display
Four settings control how the list looks.
Ring Style — the shape of the progress indicator next to each class. Circle is the default, and every style is free.
Show Rings For — which classes get a ring. The default only shows rings for classes that currently have tasks, which keeps the list short.
Task Date Grouping — groups your tasks under date headings instead of showing one flat list.
Due Date Format — Absolute shows the actual date. The alternative shows how far away it is instead.
Timeframe
Two settings control how far ahead you look.
Timeframe — how much you see at once. Week is the default.
Start of Week — where the week begins. Rolling (Today) means the next seven days from now, rather than resetting on a fixed day.
Rolling is worth keeping if deadlines sneak up on you — a fixed week can hide something due in two days just because it falls after the reset.
Completion
Mark Assignments Complete decides when a task gets ticked off. The default lets your school platform do it — once it registers your submission, the task clears on its own. The alternative is ticking things off yourself.
Missing tasks
Show Missing Tasks — keeps overdue work visible instead of letting it disappear once the deadline passes.
Show Missing Tasks for — how long overdue work sticks around. The default is 1 week after the due date.
Streaks
Turn on Streaks to track how many days in a row you've kept up. Turn it off if a broken streak does more harm than good for you.
Note: If your Tasks for Canvas streak transferred incorrectly, email [email protected] and we’ll reset it within a few days.
Include:
Your name
BetterCampus account email
Username
Current streak
Correct streak
You need an active BetterCampus account, but Free or Pro both work.
After we reset it, log out and back in to see the updated streak.
Calendar sync
The To-Do List settings include a shortcut to calendar sync, so you can send your tasks to Google Calendar or Outlook from here. This is the one Pro feature on this page — see Sync your calendar.
Every other setting here works the same on both plans.

To-Do List vs Planner
The To-Do List is the quick view on your dashboard. The Planner is the full page where you drag tasks onto a calendar and plan when you'll do them. They show the same work.
