BetterCampus 7.5.1 improves trial flows, billing screens, calendar sync, and feature gating across notes, assignments, and files.

Trial flows redesigned

Trial signup is now clearer:

  • On signup, you choose whether to start a trial or stay free

  • Trial state is tracked more reliably with clearer messaging

  • Trial bars show accurate status including ended dates

Upgrade screen

The upgrade experience is cleaner and more informative:

  • Upgrade CTA now opens in a new tab instead of a popup

  • Header: "Organize faster. Study smarter. Stress less."

  • Clear month/year switching with yearly savings displayed

  • "Most popular" badge highlights the best plan option

  • Uses "tasks" terminology consistently throughout

Billing settings

Billing tab now shows:

  • When your next bill is due

  • Upgrade plan opens the upgrade screen

  • Manage existing plan opens Stripe to manage payment details

Calendar sync

Google Calendar sync got several improvements:

  • Labels updated from "pull from Google" to "Retrieve from Google"

  • Send to Google Calendar enabled by default

  • Buttons and entry points updated in preferences, to-do list, and assignments pages

Notes transcription

Transcription is now available with plan-based limits:

  • Free and Style+: hours per week

  • Learn+: unlimited transcription

File annotations

Annotation tools now have clear plan limits:

  • Free and Style+: draw only—size and color controls locked

  • Learn+: full annotation tools including size and color

Assignments filter locations

Filter controls are now gated clearly:

  • Free and Style+: dropdowns visible but greyed out for discoverability

  • Learn+: unlimited filter access

Theme creation

  • Theme creation now shows progress indicators (1/3) in the button and on created/remixed pages

Student perks

  • Student perks are now available to all users with the extension, including those without an account

Behind the scenes

  • Trial state now stored in app database for more reliable tracking

  • Trial events sent to analytics for better visibility

  • Stripe integration improved—subscriptions only created on paid upgrade, not during trial
