BetterCampus 7.5.0 introduces the new Navigator home page, redesigned themes and preferences, and major improvements to planner, grades, and UI consistency.

Navigator — the new BetterCampus home

BetterCampus now opens into a full home page experience instead of a popup:

  • Welcome screen appears once on first load with confetti branding

  • Click outside to close, or click the widget icon to toggle

  • Perks section on the homepage shows what's available to you

  • Widgets and popup menu position correctly over the sidebar

  • Reflects navigator pages in the sidebar so you know where you are

  • Clicking the extension puzzle icon off-Canvas prompts you to head to Canvas to activate

Themes and preferences redesigned

Themes and settings got a major overhaul:

  • Apple-style preferences design for a cleaner look

  • Profile section now includes themes

  • Theme button more visible in the interface

  • When theme or preferences is clicked, home screen minimizes into a floating popup

  • System theme option for dark/light appearance

  • Card images renamed to card visuals for clarity

Planner and calendar improvements

Planner and calendar are clearer and more consistent:

  • Planner View (Calendar) UI polished

  • Due View (Tasks) UI polished

  • Sync icon replaced with calendar icon when sync is off—switches to sync icon when enabled

  • Dynamic header shows upcoming class and tasks on hover

  • "You have X assignments due" now consistent with the to-do list

  • Agenda moved to backend for reliability

  • Planning features show lock icons for free users so paywall is clear

  • When sidebar is collapsed, you can still drag and drop to rearrange pages and courses

Grades fixes

  • Grade scaling fixed—no more glitchy behavior when setting specific values

  • Weighted GPA tooltip explains to mark Honors/AP classes individually in each class's settings

Keyboard shortcuts

New hotkeys for the editor:

  • Cmd/Ctrl+B toggles bold

  • Cmd/Ctrl+I toggles italics

  • Cmd/Ctrl+U toggles underline

  • Toolbar buttons show active state when triggered via shortcut

Card image visuals

Card images now have tiered editing capabilities:

  • No account: link uploads only

  • Free: upload images only

  • Style+ and Learn+: full editing including crop, zoom, rotate, and filters

  • Discussion posts now link correctly to /discussion_topics instead of /assignments

  • Tab switcher for easier navigation between pages

UI polish

  • Footer now includes social links, version, and help

  • Tooltips added to widgets

  • Top part of toolbar rounded for cleaner design

  • Icon updates throughout

  • Scrolling behavior fixed—no more "allowed to scroll but nothing happens"

  • Floating bottom bar adjusted to match new design
