What data BetterCampus collects
BetterCampus is a Chrome extension that enhances your Canvas experience. It collects a limited amount of data to provide its features — here's exactly what that includes and how it's used.
What BetterCampus collects
If you use BetterCampus without an account
In non-account mode, BetterCampus collects:
LMS analytics — stored locally on your device only, never sent to BetterCampus
Extension settings and preferences — stored in your browser
Limited technical information — like IP address and security logs, used only to deliver and secure the service
If you create a BetterCampus account
When you sign up, BetterCampus collects:
Account information — name, email address, username, password
Date of birth — used for age verification (you must be 13+ to create an account)
Optional profile details — school name, school type, graduation year (you choose whether to provide these)
User-generated content — themes, study sets, notes, and files you upload
Product activity — how you use features inside BetterCampus (used to improve the product)
Payments
If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. BetterCampus receives limited transaction details but does not store your full credit card number.
What BetterCampus does NOT collect
Your general web browsing history
Your Canvas password
Activity on non-Canvas websites
How your data is used
